Dress Code
Students must dress appropriately so they can focus and get the most out of their time in class.
Expressions does not sell dance shoes or dance clothes.
A-1 Dance & Theatrical (22120 Redwood Rd, Castro Valley) carries our recommended shoes and they also sell dance clothes and dance accessories. They are open Wed-Sat. Please let A-1 know you are from Expressions so they can help fit you with the shoes we recommend (reasonable combination of quality and price).
Although we are excited to support another small business, you can also choose to purchase your dress code items online or at the store of your choosing.
TWIRLING TOTS Dancers: Age 2-4
Option 1
- Hair: pulled away from face in a bun, ponytail, braid, etc. or with clips for short hair
- Attire: comfortable top and dance or yoga shorts / pants OR leotard and tights
- Shoes: tap shoes (velcro preferred) AND ballet shoes
Option 2
- Hair: away from face
- Attire: comfortable top and athletic shorts or pants
- Shoes: tap shoes (velcro preferred) AND ballet or jazz shoes (no ties)
Tiny Dancers: Age 4-6
Option 1 (Required for Girls)
- Hair: pulled away from face in a bun, ponytail, braid, etc. or with clips for short hair
- Attire: comfortable top and dance or yoga shorts / pants OR leotard and tights
- Shoes: black tap shoes (velcro preferred) AND pink ballet shoes
